She also had words of encouragement for artistes that were not nominated telling them their input is noticed and deeply appreciated and they should not be disappointed at all.

The nominees for the AMVCAs were revealed at a glamorous nomination cocktail party held at the Porsche Center, Victoria Island. In attendance were popular movie and TV drama stars like: Jide Kosoko, Saheed Balogun, Chidi Mokeme, Funlola Aofiyebi, Uti Nwachukwu and Genevieve Nnaji.

At the AMVCA, Amstel Malta congratulated Okechukwu Chukwudi Ukeje on his nomination for the maiden edition of the Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards (AMVCA). Ukeje, a former winner of the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality TV show, was a nominee in the 'Best Actor In A Drama' category for his role in the movie – Two Brides And A Baby.

Ukeje was against Fabian Adeoye Lojede and Kenneth Uphopho for their roles in Jacob's Cross and Down & Out respectively. Also nominated in the same category were Edward Kagutuzi for Mirror Boy and Jafta Mamabolo for his character in Otelo Burning.

Ukeje attained national prominence when he emerged winner of the 2007 edition of the Amstel Malta Box Office. This earned him a lead role in the movie, White Waters, for which he won the highly coveted 'Best Upcoming Actor' award at the 2008 edition of the African Movie Academy Awards.
